DICOM
DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communication of Medicine) is the international standard for all diagnostic imaging modalities (ultrasound, angiography, CT, MR and nuclear medicine). VidiStar is DICOM-compliant and manages the retrieval, viewing and storage of DICOM media. DICOM Structured Reporting (DSR) is a DICOM format for clinical reports that is becoming the international standard for arranging clinical data into report solutions in order to facilitate information-sharing and integration between clinical systems. All VidiStar reports are in DSR format.

HIPAA
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) was introduced to improve portability and continuity of health insurance coverage in group and individual markets, and among other purposes, to specifically:

• Combat waste, fraud, and abuse in health insurance and health care delivery
• Promote the use of medical savings accounts
• Improve access to long-term care services and coverage
• Simplify the administration of health insurance
• Customers defined as "health care entities” in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) must comply with provisions governing security and privacy. Our product offers features that enable HIPAA compliance.

FDA
VidiStar is in the process of gaining FDA 510(k) approval.
