VidiStar, LLC Receives U.S. Patent No. 8,200,505

GREENVILLE, SC, June 12, 2012 – The United States Patent Office (USPTO) has officially issued Vidistar, LLC’s patent for creating and rendering clinical reports over the Internet. “This is a landmark accomplishment,” announced Craig A. Walker, MHA, a partner and the founder of VidiStar, LLC. “The USPTO did a thorough job vetting the claims of our invention, and we are honored to be recognized within the medical industry for this ingenuity.”

U.S. Patent Number 8,200,505 allows for the “System and method for creating and rendering DICOM structured clinical reporting via the internet.” DICOM stands for Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine, which is the international standard for handling, processing, storing and communicating diagnostic imaging data.

“We continue to build upon our intellectual property portfolio in order to strategically position VidiStar in the marketplace,” stated Walker. “We believe this innovation will become the standard for making DICOM structured reports over the internet.”

VidiStar’s patented technology offers health care providers the ability to securely interpret diagnostic imaging studies and clinical results over the internet. Physicians and hospitals have historically used dictation and transcription services for creating these diagnostic reports. Using VidiStar’s patented technology, these types of clinical reports digitally autopopulate diagnostic data directly from the imaging system (i.e. DICOM device, such as an ultrasound machine) into VidiStar’s patented reporting software, which improves efficiency and workflow by reducing human error in manually recording this patient data. VidiStar’s novel technology enables health care providers to remotely read their diagnostic studies from anywhere using the internet, thus saving time and eliminating the costs associated with dictating and transcribing these types of clinical reports.

VidiStar, LLC is a web-based Picture Archiving Communication System that utilizes novell, patent-pending online structured reporting technology for diagnostic medicine and interpretation. VidiStar provides physicians with an affordable, easy-to-use solution for their clinical practice. VidiStar’s cost-effective technology allows physicians and health care providers to quickly review and interpret diagnostic studies. VidiStar, LLC is an SCLaunch portfolio company (2008 & 2010).
